The Brief
The brief was to create a functional and understated home with a strong sense of warmth and character. Rather than relying on excessive finishes or decoration, the spaces needed to feel open, comfortable and personal, with natural light, greenery and carefully selected furniture becoming integral to the experience of the home.
The Approach
The design follows a restrained material and colour palette, allowing individual pieces of furniture, artwork and planting to define each space. White and textured grey surfaces form a quiet backdrop, while deep timber tones introduce warmth throughout. Visual connections between spaces are maintained through wide openings, creating an easy flow between the living, dining and adjoining areas while retaining their individual identities.
The DETAILS
Natural timber, cane and woven surfaces are paired with exposed textures, neutral fabrics and minimal black lighting elements. Custom furniture and cabinetry introduce rich reddish timber tones, while fluted glass, woven cane and tactile textiles add subtle layers of detail. Large openings bring daylight and landscape into the bedrooms and common areas, while indoor planting extends this connection with nature throughout the house. The result is a material palette that is simple and restrained, but never sterile.
